Service Terms & Warranty

The points below explain how we provide our services. The accepted quotation sets out the details specific to your project.

1. Service provider and scope

The service provider is Visan Nicolae Adrian, trading as PC Garage Fribourg, Route de la Brèteneire 12, 1634 La Roche, Switzerland. Contact: contact@pcgaragefr.ch; +41 78 338 66 29.

These terms apply to services agreed with PC Garage Fribourg: diagnostics, repairs, maintenance, assembly and supply of custom PCs, and IT installations. They are provided with the quotation before acceptance. Specific provisions agreed in writing and the customer’s mandatory statutory rights remain unaffected.

2. Enquiries, diagnostics and approval

An enquiry submitted through the website does not authorise paid work. We first specify the scope and terms of the diagnostic assessment. Following the assessment, we explain the recommended work, required parts, cost and estimated timeframe.

The hardware assessment is not charged when we carry out the repair. If you request only the assessment or decline the repair, the diagnostic assessment is charged at the amount stated before it is carried out.

No paid intervention or additional paid work is carried out without your agreement. If we discover a further fault, we contact you to revise the proposal.

3. Prices, parts and payment

Prices are stated in Swiss francs (CHF). Repair prices shown on the website are indicative and cover labour unless stated otherwise. Parts, licences, travel and shipping are specified in the quotation where required.

PC configurations and their starting prices are customisable reference points. The final price depends in particular on the components selected and their availability. The quotation states the total amount payable and how applicable taxes are handled.

Payment deadlines, payment methods and any deposit are specified in the quotation before acceptance. Requests to change or cancel an accepted order are discussed in light of work already undertaken and components ordered, in accordance with the contract and applicable rights.

4. Drop-off, shipping and return

Drop-off and collection in La Roche are by appointment. Before shipping any equipment, contact us to agree the arrangements and pack it appropriately. We agree which accessories to include, the shipping method and any costs.

The timeframes provided depend on the diagnosis, supplies and agreed work. We inform you of known changes. Any binding deadline must be expressly agreed.

After the repair or assembly and the planned tests, we contact you to arrange collection or delivery on the agreed terms.

5. Data and access to equipment

Before handing over equipment, back up important files if possible and tell us about any particular constraints. If the device can no longer be backed up, let us know before the work begins so that we can agree how to proceed.

Transfers of accessible data, reinstallation and any operation that may modify storage are specified in the accepted scope of work. We do not provide data recovery from failed storage media.

Any access needed to carry out the service is agreed with you. These arrangements do not remove responsibilities imposed by applicable law. Our Privacy Policy provides further information.

6. Configurations and reused components

We select the configuration with you based on your usage, budget, compatibility and cooling requirements. Performance depends on software, settings and components; a specific numerical result is contractually binding only if expressly agreed.

Existing components may be reused after their condition and compatibility have been checked. Their integration and the service provided for them are described in the quotation.

Coverage of reused, customer-supplied and used components: Components owned by the customer and retained in a configuration do not receive an additional commercial hardware warranty from PC Garage Fribourg. When the customer supplies all parts and orders only assembly or testing, we do not add a commercial hardware warranty for those parts. We remain responsible for properly carrying out the agreed work and for damage attributable to our intervention. Used parts supplied by PC Garage Fribourg carry a 3-month commercial warranty from handover to the customer, or from return of the device when installed during a repair. This commercial warranty does not exclude or reduce applicable statutory warranties or time limits. New parts, used parts supplied by us and parts owned by the customer are distinguished in the quotation.

7. Warranty and reporting a fault

PCs assembled with new components carry a commercial warranty of 36 months for customers who are natural persons and 24 months for customers who are legal entities, starting on delivery. The duration depends on the customer’s status. Where a configuration includes customer-owned components, PC Garage Fribourg’s hardware warranty covers the components supplied by us; new and used parts are subject to the separate coverage described in these terms. Warranty handling: For new PCs, the commercial warranty starts on delivery. For repair work, the 3-month period starts when the device is returned. During the applicable warranty period, for a covered fault, we arrange a supplier warranty claim (RMA) where possible. If that route is no longer available, we repair the component where possible; otherwise, we replace it with an identical, equivalent or higher-specification component, subject to availability. The commitment expressly made by PC Garage Fribourg remains applicable even if the supplier’s warranty is shorter. For a warranty claim concerning a complete system sold new or a component supplied new by us, PC Garage Fribourg pays the shipping costs. For other systems and services, shipping costs are borne by the customer, subject to applicable statutory obligations and our liability for damage attributable to our intervention. Contact us before shipping to agree the arrangements. Duration after a warranty repair or replacement: A repair or replacement under the commercial warranty does not start a new full warranty period. Repaired or replaced hardware remains covered until the original expiry date of the relevant commercial warranty. For example, if a PC has a 36-month warranty and work is carried out in month 30, the remaining commercial warranty period is 6 months. This rule applies only to the commercial warranty; it does not limit applicable statutory rights or the statutory effects of a repair or replacement on their time limits. Covered claims reported within the applicable period continue to be handled even if the process is completed after expiry.

Warranty for repairs and replacement parts: We provide a 3-month commercial warranty for repair work carried out by us, starting when the device is returned to the customer. It covers the repair performed and is not a general warranty for the entire device. Coverage of a new part supplied during a repair must be distinguished from coverage of the work itself: For new parts sold separately or supplied during a repair, the commercial warranty period corresponds to that granted by the manufacturer or supplier for the part concerned. The duration, warrantor and coverage are specified in the quotation or invoice. PC Garage Fribourg’s commercial policy of 36 months for natural persons and 24 months for legal entities applies to new PCs assembled and purchased from us; it does not automatically extend to a part sold separately or installed during a repair. The warranty of a new PC already sold remains applicable to that system. The customer’s statutory rights against us are neither excluded nor reduced by reference to a manufacturer’s or supplier’s warranty. Applicable statutory warranties and time limits are neither excluded nor reduced by this commercial warranty.

If a fault occurs, contact us with a description of the symptoms and the quotation or invoice reference. We arrange appropriate checks and support with you. Applicable statutory rights concerning defects remain unaffected; the information above does not replace them.

8. Business services

Network, NAS, backup and AI installations are defined in a quotation specifying the hardware, software, access, configuration and planned checks. Responsibilities for backups and restore tests are also specified.

Any commitment regarding response times, availability or recurring maintenance must be set out in a specific agreement. The supply of equipment alone does not constitute a continuous monitoring contract.

9. Questions and applicable version

For any questions about a proposal or service, contact us before giving your agreement. Contractual relationships are governed by Swiss law, subject to mandatory provisions applicable to the customer.

Published version: 01.10.2026. The version provided with the accepted quotation applies to the relevant contract, unless changes are agreed together.
